Swiss watch brand Longines has recently turned out its 34 millionth watch. The 34 millionth Longines watch is a HydroConquest model. The timepiece became a new addition to the Longines Sport Collection, and is presently displayed at the 34 Million Watches museum in Saint-Imier.

The Longines Sport Collection was unveiled in 2007. The line comprises divers’ watches that are highly demanded among sports and watchmaking fans.

The Longines company marked its 175-th anniversary in 2007. It has kept the record of all 34 million timepieces it has produced in Saint-Imier since 1832. The character of every timepiece clearly reflects the period of its production. The horological design and production methods reflected by a watch correspond to definite periods of the production technology.

Longines itself has greatly contributed to the development of certain methods in the field of watchmaking production technology. Each period is characterized by certain ideas concerning the standards a watch should correspond to and the way it should be constructed. It also demonstrates the evolving notions as for the certain conditions and constraints under which timepieces have been produced.

The Museum of the 34 Millionth helps its visitors to discover the basic parameters of watch manufacturing. It invites everyone interested to have a look at 34 showcases, each symbolizing one million watches. The museum offers an overview of the phases watch manufacturing involves, through every watchmaking period. Each showcase features visual and written material of the period, throwing new light on the implications of the company’s own manufacturing activities.

Since 1832, the Longines maison is based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. The company has at its disposal 175 uninterrupted years of remarkable expertise in watchmaking and 130 years of sporting heritage, having acted as timekeeper for world championships and partnered with international federations.
